Thanks so much for the Owner's manual for my Sony PS - FL1. I had purchased the turntable off of eBay. It came in and looked great. Packed well and appeared to be great. I balanced and aligned the tone are and hooked it up. When trying to play a record the tone are would move to the right place and just before it would drop to play it moved back off the edge of the record before touching down. I searched the net for an answer to this issue. No luck. Then I purchased the owners manual and sure enough there was a place to adjust where the stylus touched down. That adjustment solved the problem and saved me a $35 feet to have the player checked out. The manual is well written and easy to understand. It is a must have for anyone with this front loading Sony turntable.

Some years back I pruchased a Sansui G-9000. I had it cleaned up and a problem with the left channel repaired. When I got it back I hooked it up to my tape decks, turn tables, TV and it played great. The only thing I was not really satisfied with was the performance of my Graphic Equalizer. I purchased this owner's manual had poured myself a cup of coffee. The manual is well organized and written in plain language. It also contained the solution to my dissatisfaction. By using the preamp connections coupled I was able to run everything through my graphic equalizer and now enjoy the full potential of my complete system.

An excellent service for the price, however, it would also have been handy if the troubleshooter pages were included. The manual is only sent in the language of your country, thus it looks as though there are some pages missing. Otherwise highly recommended.

Symptom
The picture does not appear in the viewfinder.
Cause and/or corrective actions
� If VF PW-SAVE is set to ON in the menu system, the picture disappears automatically when you turn your face away from the viewfinder. m Bring your face close to the viewfinder within 1/2 inch (1 cm). Or, set VF PW-SAVE to OFF. (p. 32) � A tape in a poor condition, such as a tape recorded repeatedly, is played back with TBC set to ON in the menu system. m Set TBC to OFF. (p. 32) � Sunlight or the incandescent lamp may prevent the viewfinder sensor from working correctly. This is not a malfunction. � A tape where video game pictures are recorded is played back with TBC set to ON in the menu system. m Set TBC to OFF. (p. 32) � A tape in a poor condition, such as a tape recorded repeatedly, is played back with TBC set to ON in the menu system. m Set TBC to OFF. (p. 32)
The picture in the viewfinder does not disappear even VF PW-SAVE is set to OFF in the menu system. The picture jitters.

The supplied Remote Commander does not work.
Cause and/or corrective actions
� COMMANDER is set to OFF in the menu system. m Set it to ON. (p. 32) � Something is blocking the infrared rays. m Remove the obstacle. � The battery is not inserted with the correct polarity. m Insert the battery with the correct polarity. (p. 97) � The batteries are dead. m Insert new ones. (p. 97) � The camcorder is not malfunctioning.

The CHARGE lamp flashes after you charge the battery pack installed in the camcorder. No function works though the power is on.
� Disconnect the connection plug on the battery pack or on the AC power adaptor, then reconnect it in about 1 minute. Turn the power on. If the functions still do not work, press the RESET button on the back of the battery compatment lid using a sharp-pointed object. (If you press the RESET button, all the settings including the date and time return to the default.)

The VTR/CAMERA or CHARGE lamp does not light. The CHARGE lamp flashes.
Corrective actions
� Disconnect the power cord. After about 1 minute, reconnect the power cord. (p. 7) � See the chart on the next page.
