I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. This is a complicated unit and without the manual I would not have been able to maximize it's potential. Thank you.

remove the CD turn off the player
Press x, then Z. Set POWER to �OFF�.
2 Set FUNCTION to �FM STEREO� or
�AM�.
To remove the CD
Be careful not to touch the playing side (the side with no label).
Using the player on batteries
Display ** DC IN 6V PUSH CLOSE Insert four size AA (R6) batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment.
To release the battery
Press the # side of the battery and then take out the battery.
3 Place a CD in the CD compartment.
12 cm CD
Push down until it clicks into place.
8 cm CD
Insert aligning the center part.
Selecting play mode
1 Set FUNCTION to �CD�. 2 Press PLAY MODE until the play mode you want
appears in the display. Then proceed as follows:
3 Turn TUNING to tune in a radio station.
* There is a tactile dot beside VOL to show the direction to turn up the volume. ** The u button has a tactile dot.
To listen through headphones
Connect the headphones to the i (headphones) jack.
If the battery compartment lid comes off
Insert the right corner of the lid and then insert the left corner aligning it to the groove of the battery compartment. With the label side facing you
To repeat a single track
Selected play mode and operation you need �REP 1�: Select the track you want to repeat by pressing > or . and then press u. �REP �: Press u. �SHUF �: Press u. �SHUF REP �: Press u.
To reinforce the bass sound
Set MEGA BASS to �ON�. To return to normal sound, set the switch to �OFF�.
4 Press PUSH CLOSE to close the the lid
of the CD compartment.
To adjust the volume turn off the radio
Do this Slide VOL. Set POWER to �OFF�.

Notes
� To use the player on batteries, disconnect the AC power adaptor from the player. The player does not operate on batteries as long as the AC power adaptor is connected. � Replace the batteries when the OPR/BATT indicator dims or when the player stops operating. Replace all batteries with new ones.
To improve broadcast reception
Reorient the antenna for FM. Reorient the player itself for AM.
To cancel selected play mode
Press PLAY MODE until the selected play mode disappears from the display.
5 Set FUNCTION to �CD�.

This CD player can play CD-Rs/CD-RWs recorded in the CD-DA format*, but playback capability may vary depending on the quality of the disc and the condition of the recording device.
* CD-DA is the abbreviation for Compact Disc Digital Audio. It is a recording standard used for Audio CDs.
