OVEN CLEANING

Rubbingor cleaningwill damage the gasket and may affect the seal. � Smokeor fire in the oven can occur if theoven containsexcessive amountsof soil. Operating the Self-Cleaning Process � Removethe broiling pan and any other utensils from the oven. � Theoven rackscan be cleanedin theoven. However,the oven rackswill discolor,lose shininess,and becomedifficult to slide in and out if left in the oven during the cleaning process.REMOVERACKSFROMOVEN IFTHIS DISCOLORATION WILLBEOBJECTIONABLE. As a suggestion,do not leavethe racksin the oven during each self-cleaningprocessif they do not needto be cleanedsincethey will discolor to a dull silver after one cleaning. Moderately soiled rackscan be cleanedwith a soapy S.O.S.pad or Scotch-Brite scour-pad. Stubbornstainsneed to be removed in the selfcleaningprocess.Be sureto read specialtips on page 17 if oven racksare cleaned during the self-cleaningprocess. � Wipe up excess greaseand food spillovers, especiallyacid-containingfoods (tomatoor milk-basedsauces), hich have not bakedon w the bottomof the oven.Largeaccumulations of soil can causeheavy smokeor fire in the oven during the cleaning process.For easeof cleaning,the heatingelementcan be lifted slightly,
