� Make sure there are no loose strands of speaker wire touching the metal casing of the receiver. � Turn the volume down.

OVERLOAD blinks in the display � The speaker cable is shorting out the unit. and the power turns off automatically. � The output is too high. You can't set the subwoofer frequency crossover. The display is dark or off. After making an adjustment the display goes off. The receiver cannot be remote controlled.

� All the speakers are set to either large (L) or � Change the speaker settings (see page 34). �� (i.e. no speakers are set to small). � The display is set to dark or off. � The display is set to off. � Press DIMMER on the remote control repeatedly to select a different brightness. � Press DIMMER on the remote control repeatedly to select a different brightness.

No digital output from the DVD player when playing a multichannel DVD-Audio or SACD disc. � The plug was inserted improperly. � The terminal is �ne but the shutter won�t close.

See also the operating the analog audio jacks of the DVD player only; instructions that came with your DVD player/DV-50A. the receiver does not show the sampling rate of audio through the analog inputs. � DVD players do not output digital audio when playing these kinds of discs. � To enjoy fully multichannel DVD-Audio and SACD discs, connect your DVD player to this receiver through the multichannel analog inputs. See page 10 and also the operating instructions that came with your DVD player/ DV-50A. � This is not a malfuction. See also the operating instructions that came with your DVD player. � The disc has several playback audio tracks; � Switch the playback audio channel on your DVD player. the one currently playing is actually PCM. See the operating instructions that came with your DVD player. When playing Dolby Digital, DTS � The audio format of the disc is not 5.1/6.1 or MPEG-2 ACC discs, none of channel. the receiver�s format indicators light. � This is not a malfunction. Check the disc packaging for details of the audio formats available on the disc.
