Blutdruckschwankungen Der Blutdruck gesunder Menschen, aber besonders der von Personen mit Bluthochdruck, schwankt erheblich, und zwar sowohl im Tagesverlauf wie im Verlauf eines Monats. Auch die Jahreszeit und die Temperatur sind von Einflu�. Im allgemeinen ist der Blutdruck bei Kälte höher und bei Hitze niedriger. Die Abbildung zeigt als Beispiel den Blutdruck eines gesunden Mannes von 35 Jahren im Verlauf eines Tages. Abhängig von den äu�eren Umständen kann der Blutdruck einen Unterschied zwischen 30 und 50 mm Hg zeigen. Normalerweise steigt der Blutdruck unter körperlicher Belastung und fällt beim Schlafen. Es besteht also kein Grund zur Beunruhigung, wenn eine einzelne Messung gelegentlich höhere Werte zeigt.
