I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. This is a complicated unit and without the manual I would not have been able to maximize it's potential. Thank you.

Making/Answering Calls Using the base unit
Answering calls
When a call is being received, the ringer indicator on the handset and IN USE indicator on the base unit flash rapidly.

{SP-PHONE} Dial the phone number. When the other party answers, speak into the MIC. L Speak alternately with the other party. When you finish talking, press {SPPHONE}.

Note: L Use the speakerphone in a quiet environment. L While on a call, you can switch from the base unit to the handset: � Press {C} on the handset, then press {SP-PHONE} on the base unit. � If the handset is on the base unit, simply lift it. Adjusting the speaker volume Press {^} or {V} repeatedly while talking. Redialing the last number dialed {SP-PHONE} i {REDIAL}
Lift the handset and press {C} or {s}. L You can also answer the call by pressing any button except {^}, {V}, {<}, {>}, or {OFF}. (Any key talk feature) When you finish talking, press {OFF}.

Note: L You can change the ringer indicator light color and the ringer tone. You can also adjust the handset ringer volume (page 34). Auto talk This feature allows you to answer a call by simply lifting the handset off the base unit or charger. You do not need to press {C}. To activate this feature, see page 34. Temporary ringer off While the handset is ringing for an outside call, you can turn the ringer off temporarily by pressing {OFF}.
