Layering Two Tones
The RD-150 allows you to combine two tones to produce a �layer.� Use the following procedure to create a layer: 1. 2. 3. While holding down the first desired tone-select button, press the second tone�s button. Use the UPPER and LOWER sliders to adjust the balance between the two tones. To return to Whole mode�a single tone�press one tone-select button.
Initializing
Initializing the RD-150 restores the factory settings. Use the following procedure to restore the factory settings: 1. Press and hold REC and PLAY while turning on the RD-150.
Splitting the Keyboard
The RD-150 allows you to divide the keyboard into two different sections, �upper� and �lower.� This is called a �split,� with the lower tone under your left hand and the upper tone under the right. Use the following procedure to create a split: 1. 2. 3. Start by selecting the upper tone. Press SPLIT. To select a lower tone, press and hold down the tone-selection button belonging to the upper tone, and press the tone-selection of the desired lower tone. Use the UPPER and LOWER sliders to adjust the balance between the two tones.
Playing the Demo Songs
The RD-150 contains 16 demonstration songs. Use the following procedure to listen to the demo songs: 1. Hold FUNCTION and press REVERB�the message �dEN� appears in the display. 2. Press a tone-selection button�PIANO through CHOIR�that corresponds to the demo song you want to listen to. 3. Hold FUNCTION and REVERB to stop playback. Playback will start as soon as you press a toneselection button. All demo songs will be played back in sequence, starting with the song you selected.

Recording a Track
The RD-150 has a built-in two-track recorder for recording your musical ideas. Use the following procedure for recording a track. 1. Select the tone you�d like to use for recording. 2. Press the REC button. 3. Press TRACK 1or 2 to make its indicator flash. 4. Press the METRONOME button if you wish to use the metronome while recording. 5. Press PLAY�the RD-150 will begin recording with a two-measure count-in. 6. Press PLAY to stop recording. 7. Press PLAY again to play back what you�ve just recorded.
Selecting Tones
The RD-150 comes with 24 high-quality instruments, or �tones.� Use the following procedure to select a tone: 1. To select a tone, press the corresponding button on the front panel. 2. To select a variation tone, press and hold a toneselection button for about one second. While still holding the tone button, Press DATA + or � to select a variation sound. Note: Not all of the tones or instruments have variations.
