I love older radio's and the service manuals that are sometimes hard to find. Was able to find a manual quite easily on this site.

White Balance Adjustment Method
Perform the adjustment if the white balance is apparently insufficient. Note that the total performance will be always degraded because of this adjustment.
White Balance Adjustment Method
Set the unit to Factory mode for the function for which the white balance seems insufficient. Use S2801 of the MAIN assy or the Factory remote control for projection TV servicing.
Select W/B MODE, then select and adjust S CON and SBRI for each color. To select MODE, press the MUTE key. For R SCON-1, G SCON-2, B SCON-3, R SBRI-4, G SBRI-5 and B SBRI-6 Adjustments, use 10-step picture quality with the signal generator. Adjust the white balance so that it becomes the same in the entire range from low to high luminance. (Normally, the initial value can provide the optimum result. Note the initial value so that it can be easily reset. Adjust the S CON values so that they do not exceed 128. (Essentially, turn down the stronger colors, using 128 as a reference value.) When any S CON value exceeds 128, the limiter activates, and the white balance shown by a gradation at the peak will become improper.
Adjustment equivalent to that with a projection TV is not possible. Exit Factory mode to finish. As for SCON and SBRI, they can have three types of memory data, COMP (1,2), VIDEO, and VIVID that has data relative to the COMP value. These data are independent to each other, and VIDEO can be adjusted without affecting COMP. Perform the adjustments independently. For the VIVID adjustment, see "6.3 Integrator Mode." If the user wants to change the white balance even when the total balance is sufficient, it is recommended to adjust it in VIVID mode.
