VM-3100 VM-3100Pro
V-Mixing Station Creating and Saving Custom Scenes
The VM-3100/3100Pro mixers allow you to save all mixer information (channel levels, panning, effects settings, EQ, Routing, etc.) as a �scene.� Use the following procedure to create and save two custom scenes: 1. Press BANK, then press F1 [PREF] to see the specific settings you can save as part of your scene. 2. Use the CURSOR buttons and the VALUE dial to select the parameters you wish to save as part of 3. your scene. Press the DOWN CURSOR button to display �Trans. Speed� (�Transition Speed�)�this parameter sets the speed at which the mixer switches from one scene to another. Turn the VALUE dial to select 5.0 sec. Press SCENE1 to save your settings in the first scene memory location�its button lights. Press SELECT 5. Turn V1 [PAN] all the way to the right to pan the signal and turn V2 [FX 1] all the way left to turn the effect down. Press SCENE2 to save these settings to the second scene memory location. Press SCENE1 and speak into the mic to hear your first scene. Press SCENE2 while talking into the mic to hear the VM-3100/3100Pro change between Scenes 1 and 2�the transition will take 5 seconds, as set in Step 3�and then press SCENE1 again to switch back. To erase a scene, hold SHIFT and press the corresponding SCENE button�its light turns off. Press LEVEL METER to return to the main display.

Applying Speaker Modeling to the Output (VM-3100Pro only)
Speaker modeling allows you to audition your mix in a variety of listening environments using the same pair of monitor speakers. Use the following procedure to apply the COSM speaker modeling effect to the VM-3100Pro�s Master Outputs: Note: Although this effect can be used with any monitoring system, it is specifically designed for the Roland DS-90 Powered Monitors. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Press EFFECTS 2, then turn the VALUE dial to select P99 SPM: SpFlat and press ENTER/YES. Press F1-F4 ON/OFF. Press F2 [LOC]. Use the UP/DOWN CURSOR buttons to highlight the current Location setting and turn the VALUE dial to select INS MASTER. Press F1-F4 ON/OFF. Press F3 [VALUE]. Use the LEFT CURSOR button to highlight �SpM� on the left of the screen, and press the ENTER/YES button. Use the UP/DOWN CURSOR buttons to highlight the current Model setting and use the VALUE dial to scroll through the speaker models while speaking into the mic. Press LEVEL METER to return to the main display.
